Sun Microsystems

Sun Microsystems is a vendor of computers, computer components, computer software, and information technology services. Sun is the force behind Java and Solaris. Sun also contributes to many open source projects such as OpenOffice.org.

In January 2010, Sun was purchased by Oracle, with Sun becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of its former competitor.
