It is a simplified variant of the BASIC programming language intended as an easy programming language for beginners. The associated IDE provides a simplified programming environment with functionality such as syntax highlighting, intelligent code completion, and in-editor documentation access. There is no language called specifically Small Basic. There are, however, two unrelated languages:
- SmallBASIC, a language originally created for Palm OS and now available for Windows, Linux, DOS, and a few other systems.
- Microsoft Small Basic, a language largely aimed at beginners that runs on the .Net Framework.
