Rosetta Code is a wiki that aspires to do for programming languages what the Rosetta Stone did for Egyptian hieroglyphics. The concept was inspired by [http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/List_of_hello_world_programs this list of "Hello, World" programs], and the realization that "Hello World", on its own, tells a new programmer very little about the language they're using.
 
Rosetta Code was created in January 2007 by [[User:Short Circuit|Mike Mol]].
